In 2010 ATEC was closer to its clients, listened to their needs, analyzed and presented potential improvement solutions in training and consultancy. In order to follow market trends, new training areas, which met the needs of its clients and of the general market, were created.
ATEC succeeded in ITED (Infrastructures of Telecommunications in Buildings) and in ITUR (Infrastructures of Telecommunications in Lots, Urbanizations and Apartment Blocks), in Welding and in Systems and Processes’ Management. ATEC went further and reached out to the various regions of the country, wherever its intervention was necessary, with mobile equipment and flexible and dynamic solutions. It grew technically and technologically, as exemplified by the opening of the ATEC Welding Center. Another example is the Academy’s certification by ANACOM as certified training entity for the areas of ITED and ITUR. Also noteworthy was the preparation of a training room for telecommunications equipped with cutting edge equipment, namely in Fiber Optics.
New Vocational Training courses for Youngsters and Adults initiated, focusing on the key areas, for which ATEC is already recognized, as a response to the market evolution; hence enabling more employability opportunities for its trainees, though the employability rate has always been quite high.
In the area of Systems and Processes’ Management, ATEC successfully launched the programme European Industrial Engineer, after joint development with the Swiss MTM Association. ATEC also launched Business Moderation in the scope of Organizational Moderation within the area of Personal and Organizational Development.
In terms of Renewable Energies, ATEC developed courses in the scope of Photovoltaic Solar Energy that triggered the installation of photovoltaic solar panels, which besides being used in training, allow the production of energy for domestic consumption.

In view of the fact that the country, with its developing level of professional skills, is faced with an extremely competitive international scenario, placing it at a turning point which requires the real mobilization and efforts of everyone involved, we remain focused on participating in the changes that are underway, and that will enable us to overcome this deficit. This task demands not only the strengthening of all the training methods, but also the coordinated efforts of the vocational training methods and the labour market, specifically involving sandwich courses, that will contribute to placing young people in the labour market as quickly as possible.
One of the ATEC's contributions for overcoming these difficulties, amongst other things, has been to provide level III to V training courses for young people in various professions, focusing specifically on courses that award academic and vocational double certification.
On the other hand, based on the identified real needs of companies, ATEC will continue to provide the market with continuous high-level sectoral or trans-sectoral training actions, offering refresher and extension courses for company employees that are intended for different professional groups. These may be courses for Executives, for Technical level employees, or for Operatives.
In order to continue with, and strengthen, the work that has been developed in recent years, ATEC relies on its group of collaborators, who use their professional skills coupled with a strong team spirit and high motivation to enable us to approach each project, no matter how simple it may be, as a mission to be brought to a successful conclusion.
It is in this context and with this spirit that ATEC will continue to develop intervention projects in Strategic and Operational Management Consultancy, building tailor-made, wide-ranging and innovative measures as part of the Portuguese business panorama, thus actively and interventively collaborating with the development of the country.
